Creating Visual Meditations

Connect your visual images
with the voice inside…

There is an undeniable narrative speaking back to us in certain images we make.  A continued piercing of the heart.  Something more to be said.  What happens when we become a bit more intentional about listening to their notes?  The Poet Jane Hirshfield suggests that, “A regular returning in one dimension can bring unexpected turns in another.”
In this image driven workshop we’ll explore that concept, making allies of those images which have further to say and using their threads as gateways to written expression.  Poetry, free verse, short story… the field is wide open.

Exploring one of Susan’s five-pillared approach, you will discover the essential elements for honing in on the voice simmering in your photographs. The workshop will begin with an opportunity to clear personal slates and reconnect with your deepest creative intentions.  From that place of presence we will begin to mine for the bigger pictures tucked in images.  The workshop will also include poetry readings and extensive conversations on marketing and the role of social media in identifying and reaching your audience.  You will leave with clarity and confidence, empowered to listen and share your newfound voice.
Ideally suited for folks new to writing and to photographers of all levels.  If available, please bring an existing body of work, a camera, a mobile device such as an ipad or laptop and also your wide open mind.
